Workshop Aim:

This two-day workshop will give participants the skills to enable them to lead and manage people effectively.

The workshop is broken down into three segments:

  • Secrets of effective teams
  • Putting it together

Participants will become more confident in their ability to manage and lead teams back in the workplace. The workshop will use a variety of interactive learning tools including individual exercises, small group work and plenary discussion. The workshop is challenging, thought provoking, motivational and, above all, fun.

Characteristics of a leader

  • The roles and responsibilities of a manager / leader
  • Individual management styles
  • Communication skills
  • When and how to effectively delegate

Secrets of effective teams:

  • The characteristics of an effective team and understand how teams develop
  • Effective team briefings
  • The need for providing feedback in a structured way
  • When and how to coach staff

Putting it together:

  • Recognising when and how to adapt management style to suit different situations
  • Identifying the different management competencies to develop self and others
  • Developing an action plan to apply learning back in the workplace
  • Understanding the role and value of effective performance management

  • New and existing managers or supervisors who have had little or no formal management training
  • Anyone who need a refresher in managing and leading teams to achieve results.
